Remember middle school? When you were
wee tall, rocking pigtails (or like me, Pebbles-inspired fountain hair), and overalls or tights (before they made their comeback)?
For me, I was thinking
Turning twenty-something is so far away. Twenty-something is so old. Twenty-something is a life time away. Twenty-something is never going to come.
Anybody? I distinctly remember thinking that! Me and my brother's twenty-second bee-day just passed last week. And now that its here, turning twenty-something is
NOT so old. At all. I'm still so young! A whole lot of life ahead of me. And thinking about it now, twenty-something years have passed by a lot quicker than I thought it would have back when I WAS
wee tall, rocking fountain hair styles.
Isn't this supposed to be my prime or something like that? I'm pretty sure it is.
Two highlights about this birthday: good food & good music.
The
good food part:
In one day, I was surprised with....
1. A slice of chocolate truffle cake 2. A red velvet cupcake with vanilla icing 3. Mango & raspberry souffle.
Man oh man. First word:
danger. Second word:
delicious.
I have some wicked friends. High speed sugar-high.
The
good music part:
Besides all the sweets, I think the main highlight of this birthday was watching the broadway musical
Jersey Boys, which is based on the amazing 60's band,
The Four Seasons. It was nothing less than FANTASTIC. I never knew they sang so many of the songs they did. Great songs. Songs that make you want to two-step and snap your fingers like they did back then. How they get their voices to do the things they do? I have not a clue. The tunes are still in my head. Still!
Sherrrrry, Sherry baby... Sherrry..... : )

So. When my brother (Leo) and my birthday comes around, it also means our older sister's (Gini) birthday is to be celebrated also. Her birthday is two days after ours. What a birthday gift she got when us twins were born, eh? Talk about thunder-stealers. Hehe.
I love my siblings.
One of them, nine years older (but looks my age, no lies). The other, my twin (supposedly does
not look my age). One of them, I see twice a year. The other, everyday. One of them, artsy and liberal. The other, business and traditional.
Very different, but I would not have it any other way.
I love that I have a brother and a sister. And I like that I share my birthday with the two of them. Even if my sister lives in a different country!
Happy Birthday Unnie & Leo!
