epic last song

I am a journal-er. I journal. Journalling is done by me. Another 'fyi' for you all.

Personally, the best thing about it is looking back on all your past entries and reminiscing.
At that moment, whatever was happening was thee moment. And then it all passes.
And sometimes, you end up slightly forgetting that particular time - that snapshot of your life.
But not really.
That is the beauty in journalling! Even if you forget, you'll always have it on paper. Forever.

As it is the end of another year, I look back at all my thoughts of 2009 and can't help but smile.
The good, the bad, the freakin' ugly.
But, one hundred and ten percent thankful for all those good goodies.
Dear 2010, please be a year filled with growth and more happy snapshots!

We'll see where we're at in one years time.
I'm hoping my new journal is filled with lots of new fantastic goodies.
Not so much the baddies, and we'll pass on the uglies.

Happy New Years!
I'm so outrageously glad you guys were here with me for 2009.

P.S I think you all should start journalling. Just saying.

have yourself a merry little...

Oh man, these past couple of weeks have been so intense. Mega intense.
I've had no time for myself at all! Everyday has been one really crazy rollercoaster.
I feel like Christmas has seriously creeped up on me out of nowhere.
I'm a bit sad because my favourite activities of my favourite holiday seemed a bit rushed. A lot rushed. Way rushed.
But. I'm happy nonetheless.
The gifts are wrapped. Christmas music is indeed on play. Stove is in full effect. My entire family is in my home. My turkey-cooking-smelling home! I'm pretty happy right now.

So, I want to leave you with some of my most favourite Christmas tunes!

Our family is about to open gifts. And at this particular time, it always brings me back to when me and my brother were younger; We would make everything into a game. Especially the most expected Christmas Day gift exchange. And we still do it. Take a turn going around in our circle. Opening gifts. Wheeee!

I want to wish you all the most warmest and merriest Merry Christmas!
Please, please have ridiculous amounts of fantastic food. And family time.

the proposal

What?! Double-you tee eff.
Artist and illustrator Guy Shield decided to ask his now fiancee to marry him by creating this:

Yup. That would be a pop-up, folded comic strip asking the big question.
Is that not just.... insanely amazing? So damn clever.
Go to blog to see the rest of his story.

when the dog bites, when the bee stings

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings.....
These cookies are one of my favourite things.

One of my dearest friends and I were discussing how a change in season has the tendency to inflect a change in mood. In negative ways. Weird.
The 'winter blues' you could say. Or a 'cold funk'. Or, if you want to get all technical - S.A.D.
Seasonal Affective Disorder. Yes, it is a real disorder! Look it up, people.
Although this is the merriest time of year, it is known to happen. Quite commonly, apparently.
Weird, right?

An increase in busyness + a decrease in sunlight = a decrease in energy = a gigantor increase in need of my favourite things. A big stress on the gigantor part.

White chocolate macadamia nut cookies.
A good old favourite.
Baking with a dear friend.
A good new favourite.
Eating too many newly fresh baked cookies with that dear friend.
A good anytime favourite.

What can I say? We needed a little pick-me-up to make up for the lack of sunshine!
{find the yummy recipe I used here}

P.S Despite the lame S.A.D spreading around, I am getting stoked for Christmas. My friends and I had an intense Gingerbread House contest/party. Good times. Also, my older sister is flying in this weekend. Immensely excited.

now the sky could be blue

How long do you think it took to make this?

The good stuff. The best stuff. Coldplay kind of stuff.

you stop, i start

Oh dear. Oh deary me.

I finally (further) took part and (further) supported the huge Twilight-craze by watching the most awaited sequel: New Moon.

Have I read the books? Yes. All of them? Er... Yes. Do I own the first movie? Yes, yes, yes.

Will you still be my friend?
Hey man. Don't judge. Its been compared to Harry Potter. I'm just saying. No biggie.

Acting was well, you know. Lines were well, you know. The whole movie overall was just... well, yeah. You know! However. (That is a big, huge, emphasized HOWEVER)... Mr. Robert Pattinson is so definitely back in full affect.
Full on. Full freakin' on.
Not that he ever left or anything.

you know my style, i say anything to make you smile

Yes, folks. It is already December.
So I want to wish you all a huge, happy, and warm Happy Last Month of the Year!

December is usually the most busiest. But the happiest. And probably, the coldest. But in a sense, the warmest.

This is my favourite time of the whole year. I love the holidays. I mean, its Jesus' birthday! Love can't help but exuuuuude.
My sister comes back from England. I get to see my cousins. We feast on yummy homecooked meals. New Years with my bestest friends. Festive baked goods and foods. Gift exchange (I'm the type that enjoys choosing person-specific gifts). Oh, and the best for last - Christmas carols! Makes me smile.

This print was made by graphic designer, Erin Jang for a wedding (a gift from a bride to her groom).
Check out The Indigo Bunting for other really cool and creative illustrations she has made.
My favourites (besides the above) are this, this, and this. She is awesome!

I 100% love that line.
I kinda wish that this was made for me. Cannot lie.
