and if you flash your heart, i won't deny it
This music video makes me smile.
So. I'm off to see LA and Mexico for the very first time. For both. Very first time for both!
I can feel your shocked faces from here.
Either for me never having been to LA or for the fact that I am actually going to LA (considering my already very filled summer).
I know, I know. Trust me, I know. So unexpected. Tell you all about it when I return. Wheeee.

i would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils

You've. Got. Mail.
Probably one of my biggest faves of all time.
This movie is just too cute. I think it was my first VHS purchased with my own hard-owned money.
I miss Meg Ryan like this. She played Kathleen Kelly so well. Her character was adorable.
Whenever I watch this movie, I always wish my parents owned a book store. Or that I lived in NYC.
And. It always reminds me of when dial-up internet was our only form of internet. Oh dear.

and we had magic and this is tragic
I'm actually really liking this song. I feel like our worlds been infected. Nice!
You can't deny, when she is good... she is good.
But. I'm going to choose to delete any memories of her Dirrrrty days from my brain (I can't believe this is the same person). Yes. I said it.
I know you're thinking it too.

these streets will make you feel brand new

New York, New York.
A few friends and I decided to do a somewhat spontaneous (I love that word) roadtrip to NYC this past week.
It was my friend's quarter century and so he wanted to do something memorable. And memorable, it was.
We drove for 9 hours through the night. It was something like 40 degrees. Probably the worst humidity I've ever experienced. And not only my sandals, but my purse were completely destroyed from over exertion.
But those are all menial little details. Because we had such a lovely time.
Ate at the yummiest of places. (Here, here, and here. And if you're ever there, you have to go here and get the pork buns.) Partied at a seriously nice venue. Went bike riding in Central Park. Oh. And the shopping.
New York, you did not disappoint.
Next time, I want to spend more than 48 hours with you.

i think you're just so pleasant
Did you like 500 Days of Summer?
I just smiled throughout the whole thing.
Teehee.

and i loved deeper, and i spoke sweeter

So last week, me and a couple of my friends decided on an impromptu cottage getaway to my friend's cottage. Without her. Uh huh. (Thanks Jams, you thee best).
Very impromptu, but very wicked.
Campfire, check. Korean BBQ, check. Sunset, check. Sunrise, check. 6am chats, check. Tim Mcgraw, check. Check check check.
And the view (at all times of day and night) is incredibly beautiful.
All in all, a very, very good time indeed.
I wish I grew up with my own cottage. Damnit.
