tick tick tock

My past weekend was one dominated of birthday celebratory functions. Whooooo.
My friends Reggie & Darrick turned 24 this past week. Whooooooo.
And what do birthdays entail? FOOD. Whoooooooooooo!
Yup.

Reginald requested this special favourite sushi spot for his beeday meal.
I had never been and we were this close in not going. But. Inevitably, it happened.
And. It was a good thing it did.
They have a special (really special) roll there that you all must try.
Snow. Corn. Roll.
There is no snow. There is absolutely no corn. I have no idea where the name came from.
But it is spectacular. So consider yourselves warned.

(y)es vs. (n)o

Do you guys ever see something and think I swear they made this especially for me.
It was like they made this especially for me, I swear it.
If I had this in my possession, I'd stamp it all over your faces.
And every other tangible thing I got my hands on.

(y)!

if you want more love, why dont you say so?

Went to the John Mayer Concert at the Molson Amphitheatre with some of my girlfriends this week.
I have two things to say:
1. I realized I seriously, really don't like long hair on (most) guys. Mayer, why? WHY.
2. Despite the hair... John Mayer, you are good. Really good. Pretty sure you're aware of that already though.

I really don't know his new stuff (cept the one song below).
And actually, I only really know his first album. But he ended up playing my two faves from him. Whooo.
Live (and I mean the good kinda live) is always 100x better than on your ipod. Right?

... dissapointment has a name, its heartbreak. heartbreak.

(already) living for the weekend

What a weekend.
I went into this weekend thinking this weekend must be epic. And it was pretty damn epic.
I totally forgot how much fun going to a Blue Jays game is. AND. We won. What?!
That was way too fun. We got pretty damn good seats. Good FREE seats. And. Whats a Jays game without beer? Exactly.
We got to check out Taste of Danforth after too. Toronto's annual Greek Food festival. Obviously, very yummy. Does not disappoint.
Rice Pudding. Souvlaki. And get this. RED CANDY APPLES. Dude, I kid you not. My total weakspot.
Lastly. My friend Roy threw his very first (going-to-be-yearly) Pig Roast. It was epic to say the very least.
Hawaiian theme. One hugeass 90lb pig. Flip cup. Beer pong. A whole buncha grass skirts. And. A party full of passed out attendees before dinner time.
I felt like I was at a froshie party or something.
So. I say again. What a (friggin') weekend.

so glad to meet you, angeles

I spent a week in Mexico & Cali. And it was good. Both very, very different worlds (and vibes) from Toronto.
Who wouldn't like California, though? Seriously.
I was singing The OC song to myself throughout the whole trip. True story.
Driving into Maneadero, it was crazy to see San Diego just on the other side of the wall.
I learned how to tile a washroom (yes, thats right). Ate the best tacos (and quesadillas) in my whole life. And met some of the most sweetest missionaries.
Also. Um... I seriously think moving to Southern California is on my life's to-do list.
I really enjoyed Huntington Beach. Someday, I will learn how to surf. I promise. Someday.
Gawd. If I could only see the beautiful Cali sunsets in Toronto everyday.
California Love!
