a chord of three strands is not quickly broken

Back from my church's women's retreat!
Good times.
And good timing.

The location was phenomenal.
Super pretty and relaxing and cozy and... huge.
The first thing I said to all the girls was "guys, we're on the set of The Bachelor".
They concurred.
(Sidenote: Emily better win this season)

Food was... wicked.
Homemade meals and treats that would blast your mind. I do not lie.
And I got the recipe for a lil summin' summin' that I MUST make soon. Will keep you posted.

And women bonding times.
I'm pretty certain that the female species need this sorta stuff from time to time. Yes?
We practiced solitude times with God. And I really liked it. Total solitude in everyday life is so hard to find.
I enjoy.

well then lets take this night from black to blue

Family Day Holiday Lunch. At Kit Kat. Right by where my brother and I work. I wasn't working. Leo had to, poor guy.
My sister even joined us. Via text messages from the UK. Haha. Thank goodness for smart phones and Skype.
I really enjoy family time. My dad always ends up talking about his childhood in the boonies of South Korea. Hehe.
We ate yummy calimari and pasta and I then proceeded to show my parents around the PATH (underground walkway).
It was fun. My parents are cute. It was my dad's first time on the TTC in twenty years. Haha. And they were so intrigued by my mini-tour.

And finally watched The King's Speech with my momsies.
I hope it wins the Oscar for Cinematography on Sunday.
Colin Firth was incredible. I've been a fan since his Mr. Darcy days way-back-when. Heehee.
Now I am off to our women's church retreat for the weekend. I'm pretty amped for it! Have a great weekend.

he has to love you more, lila

I've been home for a few days. So I've been watching a lot of movies.
I watched The Romantics. Sigh. Remember Katie Holmes' good ol' Joey Potter days?
Anyway. Storyline was kiiind of messed. But on a happier note, liked the wardrobe selection. Haha.

And this song was in the soundtrack. I am obsessed with it.

so true

Long weeeeeeeeekend. (Is now over, boo).
Having this past long weekend was 24K gold. Truly needed.
Went out for some wholesome darn good brunch on Saturday with my great buddies Ryan and Esther.
Aunties and Uncles = way too cute. The interior decor of that place is filled with retro oldie gold mine goodness.
The place stole my heart as soon as we walked in.
Oh yeah, and the food was pretty damn yummy too. I got a breakfast burger. Mmm.
Fried egg in burger = YES.
I do definitely recommend.

P.S Feels like its been awhile since I've done a music post - and I meant to post this one up awhile ago.
Isn't the beat coooooolsies?

2.20.2011

have you organized yourselves yet?

Took the day off on Friday to go boarding.
Was so much fun!
Weather was really warm, so was a bit slushy. But by night time, wind was on full force.
There is always something to complain about!
Had a great time, although I think I may have been slightly, softly concussed due to hitting my head. Haha.
Best part is that this weekend isn't even over yet.

Highfives for long weekends!!!

P.S Sorry about the crappy quality photos, I only had my crackberry with me.

quick to holla at a hoochie with the same line

Dearest blog of mine, meet Gagan aka G-preet, my long-time friend.

And here are a few important reasons why we are buddies:
  1. She loves ice cubes just as much as me, if not more (*cue shocked face*)
  2. We used to sing/rap Tupac to each other during highschool times. During those intense "hard" highschool times, but also for funsies aka no reason at all.
  3. There is some love and understanding on a HNL (hole notha level) between her and I. We are alike, cept she is brown and I am yellow. And she's roughly double my height. Oh, and her eyes are roughly double the size of mine. Okay so maybe we're not so alike.
But I do know that I really enjoyed attending the Heat vs. Raptors game with her.
She is a h-core Raptors fan and a h-core Chris Bosh anti-fan. So she made a Bosh/RuPaul (the drag queen, who Bosh is now nicknamed) hybrid poster. She was popular that night; really liked amongst all fans.
Was fun times. Not only because I got to hang with her (we don't live close to each other anymore), but because everyone in the whole entire stadium showered Chris Bosh with boooooos non-stop.
Oh, Toronto folk... the most intense fans ever. Aaand I love it.

2.16.2011

i shoulda seen you was trouble right from the staaaart

Got to meet my great buddy Elaina for brunch on the weekend.
Had some frittata and prosciutto, picked up some cupcakes, went used book shopping, and smelled about 50 tins of tea.
Was a great day to catch up and do basically, a lot of things I really, really like. The company was better.
And as I mentioned, Valentine's Day was a night with my loves: my sweet girlfriends. I have severe, intense love for these individuals.
Had a yummy steak dinner and Yury & Jeana bought us red velvet cupcakes from the one and only Sarah The Baker Yoon.
Came home to roses and a surprise platter of desserts. I guess Valentine's Day isn't so bad : )

keep calm and kiss on

Happy Vee Day.
To be quite honest, today is getting off to a rough start. Blah.
But thought these modified prints of Keep Calm and Carry On were sort of appropriate for today.
All cute, and lovey dovey and um... heartsy.

While we're on the topic of "love", during one of our many online talks (I live on Google chat), my friend Kevin said something to me in passing that I totally agree with.
Consideration is love.
Right? I'm a huge supporter and appreciator of the little things. I'm sure you are too.

Hope you all have a good Valentine's Day, you know.. if you're into it.
I'm spending a romantic night with my love(s): my close girlfriends.
: )

clear eyes, full heart

I know this is sort of a silly post, but... guys.... One of my most favourite shows is now over. Forever.
Friday Night Lights, please don't go!
I can shamelessly say I was legitimately saddened with the ending of the last episode. Weird attachment going on there.
I usually enjoy watching programs that are dramatic and sports-related.
(The Mighty Ducks, hello!? Remember The Titans? Come on, you guys know. So good.)

Have you guys heard of Explosions in The Sky? They're an instrumental band from Texas.
Their music was heavily used on the film-version's soundtrack, and evidently, they were on the TV-version also.
So. Good. I think soundtracks and film scores can make a movie/TV show 10x better (or worse).
In FNL's case, the background incidental music was SUBLIME. (Yes, I just said sublime).
But also... the story, cinematography, characters... Sigh. Coach Taylor = the best.

So.. who wants to take a visit to Texas and watch a football game?

and when you're holding me, we make a pair of parentheses

I like this.

You know what else is amazing?
A line like and when you're holding me, we make a pair of parentheses. Isn't that cute?
(Besides the fact that the line is really cute (go read the full lyrics) with its loveydoveyness,
I really actually like ampersands and parentheses aka brackets. I don't know why, but I do).

i'm not a playa, i just crush a lot

Happy Monday.

This past weekend, I got to reunite with some of my beloved highschool friends.
Honestly, such great times.
It had obviously been a long, long time (because we now (somewhat) resemble adults - okay maybe not me - I look like I'm 16 still),
but at the same time, it seemed like no time had passed at all.
My heart warmed up really intensely to be reunited with these girls again.
Missed you crazy girls too much.

And also, its been snowing a lot.
Like, a lot, a lot.
Yeah, its pretty darn pretty.
But gosh dangit, my boots are not in likes with our current weather state.

2.04.2011

if i ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe

Guess what I did last weekend?
Um. Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain!
Spa spa spa spa with my lady friends Yury, Michelle, and birthday girl Clara. Wheehee.
I didn't know what to expect because I never ever experienced anything like it.
But yeah, its pretty much all that its cracked up to be, friends.
I went in skeptical, left a believer.
I'm pretty sure just about anybody with a heartbeat would enjoy this.
I mean... you see icicles, you see snow, you see cold mist.
But your body is submersed in a hot bath. Hot, warm, magical bath.
Uh huh, yup.

Dont haterade. Don't be jealous.
I wonder what this weekend will have up its sleeve. All I know is that I am happy its Friday.

2.02.2011

i admit it, i'm up to my old tricks

I'm a realist.
I'm a romantic.
I'm an indecisive, piece of shhhhhhhhhhhhh.

lalalalalalala

Other than cyber-singing this song to you all, I really wanted to say:
The weather outside is truly frightful.
30cm of snow? Ain't no joke, friends. Ain't no joke.
I is chilled to the bone! Even after a mighty great (delicious) bowl of ramen.

type type type delete delete delete

Happy February!
It feels like this past month was a busy one.
I mean. I don't know where January went.... but alright? This means we're getting closer to flip-flop weather.
I'll take it.

And. I leave you with this video.
Hehe. Isn't it cute in a slighty sad, but aww maaan kinda way? That damn delete button.
Makes me think... Why don't real hand-written love letters still exist!
