lets start at the very beginning, a very good place to start

so... sound of music. epic, right? huge part of my childhood.
my mom loves this movie. and these songs bring back so many memories.

one being that my middle school music teacher was crazy, completely obsessed with this whole production. one hundred percent.
almost scarring. but not really.

anyway. some of my friends and i went to watch it for one of the tiff in the park events.
it was so much fun. to be outside in super nice weather, in the dark. watching this legendary movie. so magical!
oh ps. food pics are from dinner right before. yum.

rudy is so nice to give me florence.
because i like florence a lot!
shes so cute. i am smitten.

(and yes, florence is a small red cactus. don't haterade!)

the way you move is a mystery

i had a really relaxing weekend. watched two movies at the theatres. and a few at home too.
and... got lots and lots and lots of sleep.
yes.
oh right, i also started to re-watch this. i think this was a really, really, really great idea.
yes.
and i don't think this week will seem so bad.
seeing as its an upcoming long weekend + even longer as i took an extra day off. whipeeee.
yes!

7.18.2011

oh, its fadin' for ya

we had our first annual zimele golf tournament over the weekend. (at this really swanky, nice course).
it was pretty exhausting, but fun too. everything went really well. all ran smoothly. not bad for our first try.
i drove/was a passenger in a golf cart all day and took pictures. golf carts are so much fun.
weather was really nice and i think all the participants had a good time. go zimele go!

just as things grow in fast movies

"And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies,
I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer."

a love story

i love this. so tastefully done. another one to add to my list of city comparisons.

jw griffiths (the creator), made the whole thing with his Nokia N8 phone. cool right?
meaning... there is about an extra 10 virtual highfives to him coming from my way.

ps. i also would like to watch this and this.

oh yeah, happy friday friends : )

our hopes and expectations, black holes and revelations

Some stuff.

I got that leather bag from the Little Marc Jacobs store (for $25!) in NYC.
Apparently it came straight from the streets of Morocco.
And the notebook was a souvenir gift from Jeana Beana from her trip to Korea :)

nostalgia is denial, denial of the painful present

The last bit of our trip.
I gotta tell you about these oysters that we had at Chelsea Market.
They were life changing. So fresh and so clean. And big.

PS. Me and my darling Esther O. watched this yesterday.
And on top of it being kinda comical (and totally not what I expected), I thought all the shots of Paris were so so so lovely.
I need to go back!

you can't make your heart feel something it won't

Some photos from our second day in NYC.
AKA when the girls had a girls day/night.
Brunch (with the boys), shopping, cupcakes, the Guggenheim, Central Park, Dinner, Bryant Park, aaaand then the real girls night out.
So. Much. Fun.
Sorry, I'm trying to calm down with the NYC posts. But it's sorta difficult : )

PS. New York has the best parks.
PPS. Below, I leave you with some Bon-Iver-covering goodness. Bon Iver is so darn good.

cause' theres nothing else to do, every me and every you

Here are my top two NYC meals from our trip.
Pork buns at Momofuku Noodle Bar + Grilled Corn at Cafe Habana.

So damn good, those two things alone make the trip worthwhile.
(Except, there were obviously so many other things that made it worthwhile).

So damn good, that they deserved a separate post on it's own.
Just so damn good.

PS. Who remembers Cruel Intentions? Just re-watched that badboy. When Ryan Phillipe was thee shizz.
That movie has my all-time favourite scene. If you can guess, then I shall give you 10 points + 10 stars in my books.

(Okay, fine. Its the escalator scene. Tell me you know what I'm talking about?)
